Bringing High-Speed Wireless Internet to Underserved Areas

Deploying fixed wireless internet service to homes and businesses beyond incumbent carrier service areas.

GTech Engineering Team · Santa Maria Valley, CA ·

Illustration of wireless signals connecting a rural valley community

Outcomes

  • Business-grade broadband delivered where wired carriers declined to build
  • Relay infrastructure engineered for reliability, including off-grid sites
  • Local support with direct access to an engineer

The challenge

Across the Santa Maria Valley and surrounding areas, homes, farms, and businesses sit a few miles, sometimes a few hundred yards, beyond where the incumbent carriers are willing to build. Available options may be limited to satellite service or cellular plans with data caps. For a business, that constraint can limit growth and daily operations.

What we did

GTech built and operates fixed wireless infrastructure to close that gap:

  • RF planning. Coverage engineered from terrain data and confirmed with on-site surveys before promising anyone service.
  • Relay infrastructure. Tower and rooftop relay points some solar-powered where grid power wasn’t available: extending coverage deep into unserved pockets.
  • Subscriber installs. Professionally aimed and weatherproofed customer equipment, documented like the infrastructure it is.
  • Ongoing operation. Monitoring, capacity management, and local support from the same engineers who built the network.

Why it matters

Connectivity is both a community issue and a technical one. This work reflects one of GTech’s core values: showing up for the region we live in and extending service to difficult locations.
