The challenge

Across the Santa Maria Valley and surrounding areas, homes, farms, and businesses sit a few miles — sometimes a few hundred yards — beyond where the incumbent carriers are willing to build. For these locations the official answer is satellite latency, cellular data caps, or nothing at all. For a business, that’s not an inconvenience; it’s a ceiling on what the business can be.

What we did

GTech built and operates fixed wireless infrastructure to close that gap:

  • RF planning. Coverage engineered from terrain data and confirmed with on-site surveys before promising anyone service.
  • Relay infrastructure. Tower and rooftop relay points — some solar-powered where grid power wasn’t available — extending coverage deep into unserved pockets.
  • Subscriber installs. Professionally aimed and weatherproofed customer equipment, documented like the infrastructure it is.
  • Ongoing operation. Monitoring, capacity management, and local support from the same engineers who built the network.

Why it matters

Connectivity is a community issue as much as a technical one. This work reflects one of GTech’s core values: showing up for the region we live in, not just the accounts that are easy to serve.
